As an interior designer, I’m beginning to become a bit “granite-weary” when it comes to countertop selections. (Quoting my Twitter friend, Laura Jenkins)
It's becoming obvious that people are itching for something different. And, as evidenced by what I saw at KBIS, it looks like manufacturers have been listening, as there were more quartz options than ever before.

Quartz Products
Wilsonart’s display of their new quartz options for countertops excited me the most at KBIS.
I love all of their new white options, mostly because I prefer the way white is able to make a kitchen or bathroom look fresh and uncluttered. The drama of the darker ones - those with a hint of veining - are really appealing as well.
Wilsonart's Take:
"Versatile. Consistent. Translucent. Ambiguous, Hard, Shiny, Cool to the touch, Modern, Colorful. Resilient. What material has so many natural and manmade characteristics and equally captivates consumers and designers? Quartz, the doppelgänger of stone. This high-tech manmade material is equally suited for the home as it is for a hospital, hotel, office or resort. As the earth’s second most abundant mineral, quartz offers unlimited opportunities for discovery among homeowners, architects and builders."
