It was a real pleasure seeing the Walker Zanger booth at this year's Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS).
It's no surprise that Walker Zanger's 2015 tile collections are absolutely gorgeous. Everything looks so new and oh-so fresh! And I'm certain you'll agree with me after you see them for yourselves. Let's check them out...

Sterling Row Collection
As a BIG fan of masculine design, I love the enlarged graphic patterns, the high contrast, and the neutral palettes of the Sterling Row collection. These are so adaptable in today’s interiors. And it came as no surprise to me that they won “Best of Bath Gold” in the KBIS awards! They certainly received my vote. ;-)
Walker Zanger's Take:
“'Sterling Row draws upon the inspiration of artful tailoring,’” notes Walker Zanger Vice President of Design and Marketing Jared Becker. 'Using modern water-jet technology, we were able to create delicate and distinctive patterns in wood-finish ceramic, precisely fitted with marble. It’s a novel take on a classic theme that has applications in varying scales for floors and walls, and for residential and commercial venues alike.'”
The Sterling Row color palette leans toward grays, blacks, and whites, with the striated wood-finish ceramic providing deft counterpoint to the smooth marble."

Duquesa Collection
I know I’ll find many uses for this gorgeous tile: Duquessa. It appears exactly as described in the product's press release: “...historically influenced, yet clearly distilled through a contemporary filter”. I think it will work so well in a transitional or contemporary space that needs a hint of softness, pattern, color, or historical reference. It bridges the gap perfectly.
Walker Zanger's Take:
"'This new collection is equally fitting for a backsplash in a Manhattan brownstone, or a master bath in a Malibu retreat', notes Walker Zanger Vice President of Design and Marketing Jared Becker.
Handcrafted in the USA, Duquesa achieves its 'classic look through a modern lens' effect via a contemporary palette that varies from subtle combinations of navy and gray to bright Mediterranean blues and rich yellow ochre accented with metallic silver. Each tile is hand-painted on a cream background, creating a vaguely vintage look that resides comfortably in a home with historic roots—or brings counterpoint and context to a newly-constructed space."

Robert A.M. Stern Collection
The Robert A.M. Stern Collection of ceramic tiles was exquisitely designed. While referencing his body of work in terms of style and design, the beautiful handmade look and glazing makes this tile absolutely stunning. I love the contrast of sizes and varying designs and textures.
Walker Zanger's Take:
"The new Robert A.M. Stern Collection for Walker Zanger combines traditional smaller tiles with truly monumental tiles. The collection achieves stunning effects that are rich with detail, while evoking a diverse palette of historical influences ranging from shingle-clad country homes to elegant urban residences. With names such as Luxor, Aegean and Wave, the new styles re-imagine fundamental architectural elements as floor-to-ceiling pilasters, delicate fish-scale shingles and intricate trellises—all in ceramic tile in a broad palette of hues and surfaces."

Tangent Collection
Tangent is a new marble mosaic tile with, again, a more modern look. (See a trend here?) I like the mid-century appeal these patterns have when combined with the beauty of natural stone.
Walker Zanger's Take:
“'When we launched into the design process for Tangent, we knew we wanted to create something contemporary that drew on classic modern and mid-century influences,' notes Walker Zanger Vice President of Design and Marketing, Jared Becker. 'With Tangent, we’ve developed an original vocabulary that has not been realized in stone before.'
Tangent accomplishes exactly that. Pushing the limits of stone-cutting technology and water-jet-cut stone, Tangent offers 15 different mosaic patterns in rich marble of varying colors, veining and brightness, creating a unique collection that speaks a new design dialect."

Villa D’Oro Collection
Villa D’Oro tiles combine Mediterranean style with a more modern look. This collection is made up of up-to-date color palettes, as well as clean renditions of patterns that belong to ancient cultures.
Walker Zanger's Take:
Villa d’Oro brings this intersection of cultures to stone mosaic and intarsia decorations with a stunning collection of patterns influenced by these diverse Mediterranean cultures, each of which included, and then built upon, the influences of its predecessor."
