Do you think I’m at the RV show by the looks of this image? Well, you would be wrong.
Design blog tour LA group! Thanks to our sponsor: Dwell on Design The posts I've written or will write are my own thoughts and opinions about the products and design influences I've seen.
I was at Dwell on Design in LA with a bunch of other design savvy bloggers, seeing all kinds of cool modern design-centered goods, and this little trailer was one of many special products on display.
I took this pic, above, for my husband who is becoming obsessed with RVs! He kinda dragged me to the RV show in Houston. Well, I was mildly interested. Not because I really want an RV, I’m not exactly a tiny-space-living kind of person, but I was interested to see their features.
Here’s what we saw there, at the RV show in Houston. It was an overwhelming abundance of brown faux wood. :-/
I posted about it in an insta story back in February, and this RV vendor, Living Vehicle, commented about how I needed to check out their product. When I viewed their website I couldn’t believe the sleek look and beautiful design. And guess what? No brown!
I found out they didn’t have product in Texas, they were from California, and these homes are made to order. So, when I saw it at Dwell and was able to tour one of these vehicles in person it was a big thrill.

Look at this cute little dishwasher in the kitchen of this mobile home! This might make me love camping again. #glamping #camping #rv #tinyhouse
An elegant bathroom...with a vessel sink and no faux brown wood. :-) #glamping #tinyhouse #rv
Spa shower with a skylight? Oh yes. #glamping #tinyhouse #rv
There is really nothing like it on the market right now. At least not at the RV show at the convention center in Houston!
This little camper, below, was another cool find. Happy Camper can be customized and is made to order too. Aren’t they cute as can be?
Of course, it wasn’t a show all about recreational vehicles, it was a show about good design.
This builder of pre-fab modular homes, Method Home, had a whole house to tour. Good design done in a pre-fabricated method, made to order and customized, to set up and assemble on your site.
These are beautifully designed. You would never know this was a pre-fab type home! I mean, look at that luxury marble tiled bathroom and the cool windows.
Such cute bedrooms with accent walls showed how customized you can get with this pre-fab home. #prefabhome
You can’t come to California without getting a dose of green in both recycling and plants. These products were all made from recycled materials at the booth Made Out of WHAT?

Think air plants and succulents are big in the rest of the US? Well, California has us all put to shame. They were everywhere we went. And this cool wall planter will hold all your collection.
We viewed some of the vignettes that were done as part of the white box challenge at the Pacific Design Center. It's like doing a mini-showhouse room. These designers did a great job, showing off their design skills.
Maria Videla-Juniel of The Art of Room Design, designed this relaxing vignette. Love the wall's ombre effect. #ombrewall #ombre #spa
This space was designed by Marbe Briceno, Marbe Designs Studio. What a fun accent wall. #bedroomdesign #accentwall #bedroomdesignideas
I love The Shade Store and use their products often in my projects. They had a beautiful booth with lots of great samples for the picking. They operate so easily and have tons of fabric choices.

The Chilewich fabrics are super cool. It was great to see so many styles and fabrics operating on the shades in person.
We even went jewelry shopping! Loved this 3d printed, architecturally inspired jewelry, Zimarty, appropriately described as "wearable architecture".
Another jewelry designer, dconstruct, designs with squared off shapes and a boxy architectural style made of concrete and Corian.

Here's a design by Capsule that takes the wallet down to a minimal presence, to eliminate the bulk and weight of excess leather and weight.
One of the highlights was getting to tour around downtown LA in a brand new car from Karma Automotive. This luxury green car is sporty, sleek and oh-so fast. Some of our group even dared to drive!

There were extraordinary design speakers and talents to inspire us all on our journey of design.
And lastly, of course, a rooftop, Dwell on Design after party to attend. :-)
Check out one of the cool houses we toured on Saturday on the Dwell on Design home tour.
Lunch in a home that Elvis once lived in, filled with exquisite art, furnishings and lighting, was one of the fascinating treats we experienced on the LA Design Trail tour last month. Come see my pics of this beautiful place, filled with so much design goodness….
