Do you have an expensive brightly colored rug that you are little tired of? Are you not ready to dump it and start over with rug shopping? Maybe you just need a small refresh and want your rug to look a little more toned down?
I visited a home this week for a consultation and the homeowner had done this decorating trick with her rugs.
I have to say, I do remember hearing of this before, but I've never seen it done in person. In this case, it was brilliant and I thought I'd share with all of you.
Decorating Trick To Tone Down A Brightly Colored Rug
Are you ready for this??????
She turned them over.
That's right. All she did was use the back side of the rug, to get a more toned down look.
It basically turned a cut pile rug into a flatweave look and slightly muted the colors.
You also don't have to worry with looking at the dark side or light side of the rug from one direction or the other either. It all looks the same when flipped.
Take a look.
I love the texture and washed look this rug has.
(PIN A COUPLE OF THESE TO PINTEREST FOR ME, WOULD YA? :-)
So, let me know.
Will you be flipping your rugs this weekend? :-)
