I’ve already posted the kitchen before and after pics from this pretty family-friendly home, but now I’ve got the adjacent family room, a peek at the powder room and a sweeeet bench we had made for the curved nook of the stairs.
You know I have to start out with a “Before” shot.
Even though the tv was mounted above the fp by the previous owner, that cabinetry to the right was basically still built out for an old box tv.
That niche was deeper than the other bookshelf on the left and I really didn’t like that inconsistency. Plus, the homeowner wanted a more modern and fresh look to the whole fireplace wall.
I used this great gray glazed brick look tile for the lower part of the fp, a simple mantel, and then vertical shiplap to add some interest to this wall.
Some brassy articulating arm lights above and some pretty accessories make this wall up to date and ready for a lot of family time to be spent here.
AFTER - Fresh, Light Fireplace Wall Makeover
Well, I wasn’t going to let the kitchen and breakfast room have all that lovely blue without answering it back in this adjacent space.
That’s called “balance”. We love it and do it with intention. :-)
Over here we added in the homeowner’s favorite color purple too, as accents in the lamp and pillows.
The yellow just naturally goes with blue and syncs up with brass so well.
All our fabrics are Crypton, family friendly, and the ottoman has vinyl upholstery. Perfect for little munchkins and pets climbing on top of, if it so happens. ;-)
Lastly, I’ll share the powder room.
Here was the “Before” with that texture that just had to go!
Family Friendly Powder Room
Vinyl fabric-textured wallcovering, porcelain cement-tile-look flooring, durable quartz counter and backsplash and a custom designed vanity with a chunky vessel sink make this powder room usable and stylish for all ages.
We’re on to remodel the master bath next in this house. More cool features and remarkable before and afters to come!
Now, pop back up and do some pinning to Pinterest for me, would ya? :-)
