I saw so many unique and interesting sectional sofas at Fall High Point Market, I thought I’d create a guide of the vendors I saw to help you navigate the options out there for sectional sofas.
While I’m not a huge fan of the sectional sofa, as I think it can limit you with furniture placement in future homes and they are basically the cost of two sofas, a big investment, I do think they are perfect in some locations.
Lounge-y family rooms or spaces where everyone will be piling on for tv viewing are perfect spots for a sectional sofa.
Sometimes that sectional sofa, nestled into a corner, is the best way to get the maximum amount of seating in a room. It just might work perfectly for the layout of a room too, like it did for one of my client’s in this home we finished up last spring.
Regardless of the reason for any sectional sofa, I have some great pics below. I’ve included links to their vendors, so that you can find these beauties yourself and stash this info away to bring out when you are ready to buy.
I’ve also got some of the design trends included that I saw at market, so this post is a great twofer!
Sectional Sofa With Deeper End sections
These unique looking sofas would make a perfect place to snuggle up with a dog or child, or would work great if you like tucking your legs up under when curling up on a sofa.
That extra depth on the end can give you some extra lounge room.
The first sofa below is a new intro from Vanguard. Love the single cushion on each piece.
Trend - The simple curved shape is very stylish and on trend with an 80’s vibe that was coming on strong at market.
This sectional with the extra deep corner sections, is from CR Laine. This config would be good centered in front of a tv.
This boxy, angular sofa, below, is from Miles Talbott. It can be made into lots of different configurations.
Uniquely Shaped Sectional
With most of these sectional sofas, you can combine different pieces to create the arrangement you want and size you need.
However, some have unique corner sections and curves which can really make for a more interesting and customized look.
This curved, one armed sectional, from CR Laine, would be great floating in a room, wouldn’t it? Imagine two of these, staggered a bit, facing each other in a living room, with a focal point fireplace beyond and a cluster of round small tables between. :-)
Sounds like a showhouse to me!
This sectional below, from Highland House, is basically two angled sections put together to make a U, with two ottomans on each end. Again, love a single cushion like this on each piece. It makes for a dramatic seating “pit”, right?
Chaise on the Sofa End
Maybe you don’t have room for a big sectional but like the idea of a lounge vibe and want to get a little more space to put your feet up.
Or maybe that big U shape is what you want, but a little asymmetry in the style, to open up one side of the sectional, is needed.
A sofa with a chaise on one or both ends, or a sofa with an ottoman that works as an extension of the sofa, might just be perfect for you.
This tailored sectional from Hickory White would work well in a smaller space while still creating a relaxed vibe. The single cushions look so modern.
Trend - The textured off-white fabric you see there was everywhere at market. It’s kind of a cross between a shearling and a heavy chenille.
This larger scaled piece below, from Michael Thomas, is really just a sofa with a big ottoman on one end. It is super comfy and that ottoman, situated in this way, adds the perfect place for your feet, a kid or a pet. :-)
A “J” configuration provides a lot of seating and an intimate conversation area. This sofa is from Lillian August.
This single cushion piece sectional, from Precedent, has the chaise end that is good to float in a room. Everything can be customized in the Studio P line.
Trend - Animal prints, especially leopard, were seen all over market this fall.
Love this tailored sectional from CR Laine.
There’s Always the sofa pit
I saw several seating pit looks and boy, did they look comfy! This one seen at Vanguard.
These two sectionals below, from American Leather, make such a beautiful statement. On top of being able to choose fabric, leather, configuration, etc., you can even choose the stitching you want.
OUtdoor Sectional
Need a sectional for your outdoor space? I loved this one from Summer Classics with the pretty lattice back design.
The Pajama Lounge Extraordinaire
I visited Lisa Mende’s space in the Rowe showroom during market, and was blown away! She called this the pajama lounge, a place where the whole family can pile in, relax, watch movies together, and enjoy quality moments.
She pulled out all the stops to create this beautiful and unique showplace, even designing her own wallpaper (which everyone was asking about, by the way)!
This lounge was perfect for a deep, soft, sectional sofa from Rowe.
That’s it for some of the fab sectionals I saw at HPMKT this fall. I felt like they were everywhere!
I hope this post helps you decide if a sectional is right for you.
