Most of the projects we have right now are remodels, so I'm not really on the hunt for any particular furnishings items these days.
However, I do love to be inspired. Sometimes I can feel a little stagnant, design-wise, if I don't make myself get out and see some new products and imagine where I could use them or what kind of project I would need to acquire to be able to.
It sometimes helps me to consider my business direction. Do I want more furnishings jobs? Do I want to keep with the remodel design work? Do I want to just move to straight consulting? Do still want to do all of it?
I only spent about half a day at Dallas market last weekend, but I wanted to hit the new space on the first floor that has been developed for interior design showrooms, the Interior Home and Design Center. They had their grand opening and ribbon cutting during this market.
I knew Taylor's on Ten was moving down there. It's now called just Taylor's. They have a wide range of lines, some pictured below.
The Visual Comfort showroom is part of Taylor's, but has it's own space right next door. This new space is now the largest showroom of Visual Comfort lighting in the world. Just about every fixture style they make is on this floor. Quite amazing!
The new Palacek showroom was full of textural goodness, as always.
Ambella Home moved down there as well, with a beautiful new showroom. I hadn't recalled the bathroom vanities that they do and was so glad to see them in person. They come with countertops, sinks, even some with backsplashes.
They have wonderful upholstery too.
Loved all the great selections of live edge tables at Phillips Collection.
And then I stepped into Robin Baron's new space in The Gallery at the Interior Home and Design Center. How exciting to see how she is growing her business.
Lazure Bespoke is also located in The Gallery at the Interior Home and Design Center. Love what they can do with stainless steel. BTW, their main offices are in Houston and they can do all things custom in stainless steel, so they are a great source for designers.
Vinyl floor cloths? I've never seen these before. Spicher and Co. has been around about 5 years and they print these patterns on vinyl. Extremely sturdy and graphic, they can be used in a multitude of ways, even glued down as a flooring material, not just a floating rug. Of course, customization is always an option.
In Cash and Carry, I fell in love with these mudcloth pillows and had to have some for myself. These are very well made with great details and great price! :-)
Dang, I always find some way to spend money at market! Even when I don't intend to!
I'm so glad to see Dallas market improving and growing with home furnishings. It's really nice to have a place like this for us here in the middle-south of the country, just a drive away for me!
I'm heading to Vegas market in a month. Contact me here if you'd like me to stop by your space and feature your products on my blog and Instagram.
