I had a big dose of inspiration and reconnection with my design sensibilities last week when I participated in Zephyr’s Blogger’s Retreat in San Francisco.
Boy, there is nothing more rejuvenating and refreshing than talking design and blogging with your peers and being exposed to incredible products and experiences that are outside of your normal routine and area.
This was an amazing trip where 10 bloggers from the interior design, food, and lifestyle blog world came together for this experience that Zephyr Ventilation put together for us. They wined and dined us (will share more about that in another post ;-) while sharing some of their products and innovative strides they've made in the field of ventilation.
You know, when you niche down and specialize, you get soooo good at what you do. That’s exactly what Zephyr has done for kitchen ventilation. I’m going to hit on some highlights today, just touching on some of the masterful ways they are serving their customers with good design and innovation.
So, here’s a shocker.
Do you know that an average family of four generates 5 lbs of airborne grease a year in a kitchen?
Maybe you didn’t, but Zephyr does. And they are making it their job to get rid of that grease and odor, quietly, quickly, and effortlessly.
Innovation and special features incorporated into Zephyr Ventilation products
DCBL Suppression System - Do you hear your venthood rumbling when you turn it on? You won't with a Zephyr. This system incorporates a decreased ambient noise level with increased power and efficiency.
Bloom LED Lighting - If you read this post of mine about kitchen undercabinet lighting, you’d know that the color of light makes a huge difference in a kitchen. I love LED and Zephyr has incorporated their own LED lighting into their hood models. They are dimmable (YAY!!!), will never need changing, and give off a clean, natural looking light while staying cool to the touch.
ACT, Airflow Control Technology - These days, our homes are becoming more sealed and Zephyr has the technology to take that into account with their ventilation system. This technology ensures your home is safe and in compliance with local make-up air codes.
Wireless Remote Control - Their beautiful remote control can be slipped into a drawer or mounted magnetically on an appliance at a lower level, ensuring ADA compliant operation and a more convenient control device.
Zephyr Ventilation Style And Design
These are just a few of the engineering innovations that Zephyr has incorporated into the design of their products. However, they are also highly focused on the look and design as well. They have partnered with designers, Fu-Tung Cheng and Robert Brunner for some truly stunning hoods. Fu-Tung Cheng visited with us and shared some of his design philosophy and work.
Fu-Tung is a master of concrete design and has some of that work also featured in the showroom. You can read more about him and his life's work here.
Here are some of my favorite hoods from their collection.
The hood above is linked here - Cheng undercabinet hood. Don't you love that extra storage inside?
That Lux Island hood can be mounted in a 9'-0" ceiling. They are currently working on a larger model that could be mounted higher. It's 14" tall unit, up in the ceiling, and can be vented out the side of the unit so that it takes minimal space. I love the LED, 3 level light strip. With the remote control used at countertop level this hood is great for creating unobstructed views and a more open feel with island cooking. See how it works in the short video linked here.
Zephyr is sponsoring a giveaway here on my blog for a new hood! Enter today for your chance to take your kitchen’s ventilation to a new level! They haven’t limited the type or style of the hood, so this is a great giveaway! Enter below.
I'm heading to KBIS2017 in January and I'm creating my list of vendors to be sure and visit with while there. If you would like me to stop by and get the low down on your beautifully designed products, email me at carla@carlaaston.com and let's talk!
